Heartland Big Brothers Big Sisters Board of Directors is pleased to announce Kiersten Hill has been selected as the agency’s new Executive Director.
Hill is a Nebraska-native, born and raised in North Platte. She graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelor's Degree in Communication Studies. Since 2007 she had been serving as the Executive Director for Community Services Fund of Nebraska.
Kiersten has served on the board of directors for a number of organizations including: Lincoln Downtown Rotary #14, Girl Scouts Goldenrod Council, American Marketing Association Lincoln Chapter and the Seward Country Club. She’s a graduate of Leadership Hastings, Leadership Nebraska and Leadership Lincoln. She was a Midland’s Business Journal "40 Under 40" award winner and was recognized as the 2013 Lincoln Nonprofit Executive of the Year. She frequently speaks to nonprofit groups and other organizations about fundraising, board development and organizational change. She has a passion for networking, fundraising and nonprofit organizations. Kiersten is married to Chad Hill and has one son, Cooper.
We are also pleased to announce the election of a new President and Vice President of the agency's Board of Directors to lead the organization in 2017.
AshLea Allberry will serve as board president. Allberry is the Vice President of Operations for Nanonation, Inc. Nanonation is a software product company, focusing on digital experiences within public spaces. Within her role, she manages software development, design and quality assurance teams. In addition, she focuses on utilization and other organizational initiatives. Outside of her career, AshLea is involved throughout the Lincoln community in a variety of capacities in addition to her service to Heartland Big Brothers Big Sisters. She’s the co-founder of RISE Lincoln and 100s of Women Who Care Lincoln. She is also actively involved in Lincoln Rotary Club #14, Leadership Lincoln – Executive Series, Lincoln’s Young Professionals Group and is part of the Nebraska Council on Economic Education Board of Directors. She and her husband Tate have a young daughter, Kate, and enjoy spending time with her. AshLea received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Master of Business Administration (MBA) degrees from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. She has recently returned to UNK in an adjunct faculty capacity. She is a Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) through the American Software Testing Qualifications Board (ASTQB).
Emily Motto has been elected as the board’s vice president. Emily is an attorney with Baylor Evnen and a member of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group. Ms. Motto handles all files in general litigation. Her experience in the court room includes both bench trials and jury trials. In addition to her career, she is on the Board of Directors for the Nebraska Defense Counsel Association, a member of the Lincoln Bar Association, Defense Research Institute and the Nebraska State Bar Association. She also received the 2016 Rising Star Award from the Nebraska Defense Counsel Association. Emily grew up in Davenport, Iowa and is a graduate of the University of Iowa and Creighton University School of Law. Prior to joining Baylor Evnen, she practiced for two years in the area of insurance defense of property and liability matters.
