Every spring, James Arthur Vineyards hosts a Renaissance Festival and donates the proceeds from the parking fees and children's area to Heartland Big Brothers Big Sisters. The festival offers, as a family event, the experiences of what it was like to live during the time of kings, castles and damsels in distress. Members of Lincoln's Society of Creative Anachronism dress in period costume and populate the vineyard’s grounds. The players offer period displays and demonstrations. We'd like to thank Jim & Barb Ballard of James Arthur Vineyards for supporting our agency throughout the years!
This year's event, held on Sunday, May 28th, was even more beneficial to our agency thanks to Ameritas Life Insurance Corporation. The "Ameritas Kids' Courtyard" sponsored the games and crafts for children at the festival.
Due to the rain, the Renaissance Festival was
rescheduled from Saturday, May 20th to Sunday the 28th –
but that did not seem to have an effect on attendance. Around 1,500 people came
out to James Arthur Vineyards for the festival, including many, many children.
The young crowds kept the craft tables and games in the “Ameritas Kids’
Courtyard” very busy for entire six hours of the event. It was a beautiful day
and everyone had a wonderful time creating princess hats, slaying dragons,
building castles and so much more.
We'd also like to thank the volunteers who came out to help with the "Ameritas Kids' Courtyard" and the parking lot!Date Created: 6/9/2017
