Renaissance Festival

James Arthur Vineyards, located near Raymond, NE, will be holding their annual Renaissance Festival on Saturday May 19, 2012 from 12-8 p.m. Heartland Big Brothers Big Sisters receives the proceeds from the gate fees and the children's craft and game area.

We are looking for about 100 volunteers to help that day. James Arthur Vineyards offers, as a family event, the experiences of what it was like to live during the time of kings, castles and damsels in distress. Members of Lincoln's Society of Creative Anachronism dress in period costume and populate the vineyard’s grounds. The players offer period displays and demonstrations. Concessions are available for moderate charges.

For this volunteer experience, this event will also feature children’s games and crafts associated with Renaissance times. We are looking for volunteers who will work in 2 hour shifts at the various game or craft booths. No special experience needed other than enjoying children. We are also looking for volunteers to help collect a gate fee from visitors to the event.

Once again, we are asking for set two-hour shifts. If you would like to volunteer or need more information, don't hesitate to contact Shawn Kean skean@hbbbs.org or at (402) 464-2227 ext. 212.
